Well, I am going to continue in catching up with the summer.... The next huge thing in our lives was Lindsey and I going on mission trip with First Colleyville. This is the group of teens and adults that I so proudly led all week. We took 170 people and had four different sites that we led vacation bible school. I had the biggest group of kids, anywhere from 70 to 85. I did not go to one planning meeting since of course I am in Georgia now. My crazy friend, Connie had much faith that I could pull it off. Connie has been planning First Baptist Colleyville's mission trips for 10 years now. She is the most amazing servant leader ever!!! She is really wanting to organize mission trips as a full time gig. If anyone out there needs help at their church let me know and I will put you in contact with her. What she organizes with all of us is astounding. I really could have NEVER pulled off anything I did without the true help of the Lord. More of that as I go.....

The second picture is us with all the kids on the last day. The housing project that we were in is actually really nice. It used to be regular apartments for the general public but it has a landfill close by. It smelled so bad that no one wanted to live there so the county bought it for low income residents. There had been a shooting there 2 weeks before we arrived. At night someone shot and killed a father and his son visiting friends. It was a reallly rough neighborhood all around.  Posted by Picasa
