Maddie Kate is One Year Old!

Here are some choice pictures from Maddie Kate's first birthday party. We had it at her favorite park nearby. Fall is here and the weather was cool and beautiful: just perfect for gathering together to thank God for her precious life!!! We really missed not having our family here with us. Most all of them are still without power back in Houston from hurricane "Ike"

We can't believe that it has been a year since we brought Maddie Kate home with us! To say that time has blazed by would be an understatement. She has brought more joy to our lives in the past year than we could have ever imagined.

We strive to make the most of every precious day knowing that it won't be long before she's walking, talking, and eventually driving a car like her big sister Lindsey has been doing in recent days. (We have reflected on Lindsey's first birthday party this weekend, feeling like it just happened a few years ago.) We know that Maddie Kate will grow up equally as fast as our other kids have, so we want to enjoy every moment with all of them.

Maddie Kate wants all of her faraway friends and family to know that she can't wait to see you and that she's looking forward to showing off how big she's getting. In the meantime, you'll have to enjoy the pictures from the party...
